MotaLeira progress and question
Today I managed to fill the brake and clutch lines and finish off the cooling system.
The cooling system has beeen pressurised to 15lb (1 Bar) all day without leaking.
My question is about the clutch.
Although bled I cannot get the clutch slave to pull to it's full extent. It is designed to pull 34mm (wilwood) but only moves 20mm at full pedal
travel.
The pedal is extremely easy to push and the slave will stay put if I keep my pedal depressed.
Am I right in thinking that the clutch master cylinder volume is too small and changing it to a larger bore will probably fix this ?
Currently it is 0.625

yes... probably.
by the sound of it you have an external slave cylinder which replaces the cable on the bike?
if so i think you need about a 1:1 ratio between master/slave size. hopefully someone else can confirm this as im not 100% sure.
will

I have a wilwood pull slave which should pull 34mm. I extended the clutch lever so that I would get a long pedal instead of a short one with a stop.

Now the choice is 0.7 or 0.75.
I think I will order a 0.75.
0.625 cylinder anyone?

is this your slave cylinder?
if so then youll need a master that has a larger displacement.
something like this

That is my slave, but I have wilwood pedals so it looks like a 0.75.
I was on rally design looking!
Just ordered......well I am in a hurry!

I've fixed the lug on and whooooo all the electrickery works!
I only got one thing wrong and that was the Neutral wire. I know the neutral switch is ok because the engine turns over!
I used the neutral clock wire as an earth to interlock my reverse relay and connect to the gear indicator. Neither the reverse or gear indicator are
working/showing N.
After some head scratching and a look at the manual, I realised that the place to connect it is on the blue wire at the neutral/clutch start relay
and not the blue/gold from the relaywire to the clocks.
It must give out a positive feed to the clocks?
I will have to do that early next week in the daylight.

I will have to bring my multimeter home tomorrow night and check.
If I am right then it is a simple fix.
All I will have to do is cut the clock wire at the relay and splice it onto the neutral switch wire.
Just checked and the wire does switch the relay. I will need to check tomorrow.
I'm a bit tired now, been up since 2.30am!!!!!

What a pratt!
I left the reverse switch unplugged!
Now everything works!
Put some oil in up to near the top of the sight glass.
I now have oil pressure and my oil light goes off! (fitted a 5psi switch).
I don't get home until it is dark so I will need to wait until monday before I start it.
My only worry is how well the fuel pump has sealed and wether the tank leaks...fingers crossed!.
