R1 oil leak!!

Hi all, since filling my r1 engine with oil for the first time it keeps leaking from what looks like the sump plug i have tried nipping it a bit tighter but it still leaks so id really appriciate some suggestions as to what i can do to stop it leaking. Is there an o-ring that i have missed as i have removed the sump to do the baffle mod.
Thanks Greg

Could the leak be from a crack around the sump plug rather than the sump plug itself?

There's usually a copper washer under the nut. Often the washer sticks to the engine when you remove the nut and then falls of when you're removing the old oil....

Thanks all, few suggestions there i hadnt thought of especially a possible crack in the sump i hope not or possibly from the clutch cover will have to go and have a butchers one evening this week and report back.
I know its not a missing copper washer as i loosened the sump plug off earlier today and i managed to see the washer so its definitly there.

Another question save me starting another topic is i need to know what oil i need for my sierra diff as i have read that some use different oil for BEC's rather than conventional diff oil any suggestions?

Thanks again

Is the copper washer is designed to be a crush washer, and therefore a single use item?

On the ZZR all the oil lines are sealed with aluminium crush washers. I have had mixed success with re-using them!

mine does exactly the same since fitting my baffle plate. Ive had it back off then on and then back off again, fitted new gaskets etc and it still leaks! I should really get it on the ramps to see where it is coming from, rather than ignoring it.

EP90 for diff. No need for anything different just because it's a BEC

if the copper washer has had plenty of use, tightened a few times, as said its a crush washer, a simple locost idea is to gently heat up the washer ( away from the engine) i think its called annealing, then refit after its cooled naturally & torque to correct torque setting, sometimes this works, worth a try as its a cheap fix if its stops the leak.
hth.
