Engine no longer primes or runs (BEC) help please
Hi after fitting the scuttle with all the wiring for what was hopefully the last time my R1 02-03 no longer primes or runs. It started first time
after the scuttle was fitted but then cut out after about 15-20 seconds and the fuel filter has a big air bubble within it now showing what i think is
no fuel or no pump. Im guessing the pump wiring or pump itself as why else would it run then stall? What would cause the pump to no longer prime or
run.
Im checking the wiring now but as the pump only runs off of two wires from the ecu im wondering if maybe ive blown the pump as i cant see a fuse in
the line(prob my fault) as i lengthened the standard loom to a 4 bar bosch pump. Any ideas?
Cheers
Adam

Tip over sensor?
I have a spare Bosch puel pump. Should only need 3 bar which is c.45psi (yamaha pump is rated at 43psi IIRC).

Adam does it turn over? If not it could be your engine kill switch wiring.

Hi, checked mnr site and i thought it was 4 bar but is 3.3. Jim what style pump is yours as it would also need to fit our bracket made for the
cylinder style pump with outlet front along with the two connectors and inlet rear. If youve got one that meets that description that would be great
and il get a inline fuse not to blow it
I dont think its tip sensor as running diagnostics it was between ratings i think it read 0.6v.
John - it does crank and injectors do fire (tested in diagnostics) but no longer runs. As mentioned before it started first time after scuttle was
fitted but then died so i guess it was starved of fuel as fuel filter is no longer full of fuel and has a massive air bubble.
Thanks chaps
Adam

Can you here the pump run when you switch on? Sound like you don't but I thought I'd better clarify.
I think there's a fuse for the pump in the bike loom. If so, is it OK?
Is there live to the pump when you switch on?

Hi, for all the short starts of the engine weve had 5litres of fuel in. After it when i mentioned it ran for 20secs i thought it must be fuel so i
added some more but after it had some still no joy. Would that ruin the pump running it without fuel?
Pump is just fed off an extended loom from the bike loom i think red green and black wires were extended. I cant see any fuses other than the fuel
injector fuse on the starter relay(2x15a) they've been checked and are fine - are there any other fuses for the fuel pump?
Cheers

wire the fuelpump strait to the battery,
I've it doesn't work then pump failure .
I've it works then you got a wiring problem.
