R1 5vy Fuel pump connections

I'm using the standard pump in the bottom of the tank and have a couple of questions,
1/ which is the return on the pump? I think its the straight connector?

2/The bottom of my pump is quite low in the car and I need to get a pipe on the straight connector, if I put a standard pipe on it by the time its turned 90 degrees its looking a bit low, I'm looking for a locost solution to get it through 90 degrees, I'm going to nip to the local bike breakers tomorrow to see if there is owt on the shelf but have considered a plumbers fitting i.e. 8mm 90 degree elbow, would the olive make a good seal on the plastic pipe?
Whats everyone else done?

According to the manual (only see it on the exploded view)...
Pipe coming out at 90' is feed and strieght one is return. Looks like the return pipe has a 90' bend moulded into it just after the connection.

An olive will seal on plastic pipe but it's not ideal. Don't over tighten it. It'll be difficult to get the olive off later, it'll shrink to the pipe and not slide off.

Thanks, probably best if I find an actual return pipe or another pipe with a 90 degree bend in then.
