I've Just Joined The Big Old Kawasaki Club :)

Why is it that when you bid on something on ebay after consuming a couple of beers - and it's usually something that you're not absolutely sure you want - you seem to stand every chance of winning it! I'm now the proud owner of an extremely tidy old school ZX10 engine and 90% of the associated bits to get it running all for a rather credit crunchtastic £130!

I've been round the block too many times to get tooo excited until I actually get it running but I had a good chat to the guy I bought it off and he knew exactly what he was talking about so I'm cautiously optimistic.....and 130 ish bhp and a close ratio sequential gearbox for that price kicks my available car engine options (saab turbo/4age/'race' 1300 xflow) well into touch!

My understanding is that the dimpled carb tops - like mine - keep it down to the old 'Gentlemans agreement' limit of 125bhp.
Light fettling with a dremel or new carb tops lift it to the full power 137bhp.

That's probably enough for me.

This week, my front suspension will be back on after painting the rest of the bits.
Couple of weeks and I might just be there.

Then some testing

Nearly forgot.

hey there

not wanting to tell anyone to suck eggs but i found something called auction sniper few months ago. if you haven t tried it have a look at it, basically you loggin to auction sniper find the item put down how much you ll bid to. auction sniper then automatically logs in to your ebay account at the very last second and bids so you ll win. no one can beat your bid when bidding against a computer. you get a few free snipes so give it ago next time your buying something on ebay. so you can have your beer in peace and quiet without the messing about!
