blade engine, revs die off REALLY slowly - with video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZSfo3XPQnU&feature=channel_page
Ignore my stupid ramblings, the only bit I say of any use I get wrong due to nearly fainting from the fumes!
The throttle moves cleanly, but the revs don't die down.
If you listen to it when I blip the throttle it sounds like I'm trailing the throttle, but I'm not - i'm straight on it, and
straight off again.
Any ideas?
I know at least one of the exhaust downpipes has a bad seal to the head and I know that my air box is not on quite right (with one trumpet not sealing
with the airbox)
Cheers for the advice.

cant make out in the vid, are you revving it using the accelerator or the linkage on the carbs / throttle bodies? if is using the pedal try it direct
on the carbs / throttle bodies.
i kept getting missed gears on my zx10 as the revs wernt dropping off quick enough, a load of 3 in 1 down the throttle cable and it feels much better
and doesn't miss!

Just a thought....
The choke slide mechanism on the carbs isn't in the 'on' position, by any chance?

Is the return spring fitted to the pedal or the carb linkage ? If it's just the pedal returning quickly it doesn't necessarily mean the
carbs are closing. It needs something in place of a return cable as fitted to the bike throttle.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Just listened to the video and I reckon that sounds like the carbs are well out of balance so that although one carb is shutting the others are
falling off later and holding rpm up. A good balance up[ will crispen things no end.
Hope that helps

Don't forget the cable only controls the butterfly's. the needles are on the slides and diaphrams so if the breather is blocked the
diaphram will hold a slight vacuum. jap bike carbs work very much like the old stromberg.

I had a similar problem with my 893 that the throttle wasn't retuning properly. there was about a 1mm gap left between the throttle stops on the
cable holder which i could close manually and the revs would instantly go down, fitted a bigger return spring on the opposite side of the cable holder
and it works a treat

Thanks guys.
I am sure the carbs will be WAYYYYYY out, I'm also sure a stronger spring will help.
Thanks guys.
It will limp me to an SVA fail which is all I'm after.
I'll sort all this after I have 6 months grace
