R1 5VY wiring
Quick question, I'm best part through connecting the loom up and I have only found one thin wire which goes to earth. Surely there would have
been some more earth wires on the bike? Connections to the battery, frame, engine??

There is normally a thick cable that goes from the engine to the battery

Do you know where it connects to the engine?
I have a thick black wire from the starter solenoid to the starter but like you say i would have thought there would be a earth strap from the engine
to the battery or engine to frame.

That would be great. Engine isn't running yet, needs plumbing in but i want to get it running this weekend. Everything else is connected up, I
have no errors on the clock when I turn the ignition on.
I pressed the starter button today and got a click from the starter relay but the starter didn't spin. I didn't have time to investigate
further (sneaky long lunch ) but I'm sure this would be a good reason for it.
A1 Pretty sure the thick wire to the starter comes from the starter relay and is a +ve feed.

What do you mean by thick wire? There's a thick wire that goes to the top of the gearbox from the loom. All the engine loom earths are spliced
into this in the loom. Can't remember if there's anymore. Have you got a main earth CABLE between the battery -ve and the engine block?

I have found only one ring lug connector, I can't remember now if it has one or two thin-ish wires connected to it, I think this would probably
connect to the bolt on the gearbox along with a thick wire from the battery but I have routed my loom differently and as a result i've connected
it to the chassis under the scuttle. I'll connect a thick wire to the the engine fro both the battery and chassis tomorrow, hopefully that will
have all bases covered.
Thanks for all your help.
