Power Commanders
I see they're reaching the £300 mark now... does this make financial sense - splashing out all that dough for a 'fuel-only'
piggy-back device when some of the DTA's, Omex's and Emerald stand-alone ECU's are available for a couple of hundred quid more?

You can get a Power Commander ignition module for certain models to, though they're another £250. The advantage that they have over
"motorsports" ECUs is that they use OEM-type connectors, meaning that you don't have to chop in to the loom, and also there's
a good chance that you can find a map that will be somewhere near, therefore reducing additional dyno time.

Are you looking at the PC3R or just the PC3 USB?
PC3 USBs can be had for less than £300

Just been onto PC's site and can't find any mention of a PC3R?
I see they do do an ignition box too for the ZX12R, but that would take the price up to £560... definitely into bespoke Race ECU territory there!

But it still wouldn't be any better than a PC3 with Ignition Box. As I said, it's easier with a PC3 to obtain a good starting
reference.... Plus, a PC is known to work at the speeds that bike engines operate - would there possibly be issues with an OMEX etc.?

Crikey - have you looked at what the Omex's and DTA's of this world can do? Ignition and fuel mapping are just an aside!
Pretty sure they could get a spacecraft to Mars!
For example: The 'baby' DTA (S40) can cope with 20,000rpm! You can shop around for them at the £550 mark!
