yea finally got my mac from gillingham.
what a drive back,still grinning.

thanks for all help.

if i decide to go to a dvla office can i just turn up?if so what forms do i need other than v55/4

I went to the office

all the forms were there, paid my £180 [1 yr tax] and arranged appt for inspection.

You will need

2 forms of identification; licence or passport and a utility bill to prove address.

You need the mac and receipts to prove age etc.

As above but they keep the mac so take a copy if you want one.

i had to hand over v5 from donnor as well.

proof od build decleration if having an age related plate ,(had my inspection today, guy told me u have to use 2 or more major parts from donnor to keep age related), hope all goess well, i had 2 trips to dvla as i was unsure, some of there staff are unsure too.

Congratulations that man.

You'll be lucky if they will inspect it if you just turn up. Most of them want to check over your paperwork first then will arrange an appointment to have vehicle inspected.

And you cant drive to the inspection. The only reason I can think for this is that they have to see the engine no and H&S means that you cant drive because the engine will be hot and they might burn themselves. Thats just my conjecture

going today to brighton so will pop into dvla office.
i spoke to dvla on the phone and they said that not all cars are inspected??
so hope to come away with reg?

on the road and got my plates

Hi all see pics of finished car.went to brighton dvla and gave them all forms.very nice man behind desk said that he would skip the inspection on my car as guy was on holiday.yipee what a result.received my j plate 1 week later.been out for a few hours this weekend driving around.i love it.
