Best way to adjust clutch, R1 ???
Is there a correct way to settup the clutch pedal/bite point?
My R1 is currently has the clutch cable mounting into the top mounted pedal box with 2 nuts fitted (which can be wound in/out).
Is there a specific position the clutch arm needs to be on the engine?
Do i settup a low or high biting point?

Jon not sure if yours is different to mine but I could feel the point on the lever on the engine where it was fully open and the point where it
started its bite, I have floor mounted pedals so slightly different but I have a pedal stop to prevent pushing the lever too far and have given myself
about 5mm of slack before it starts biting.

There is freeplay on the clutch lever that you can remove (take up the slack).
On a bike it is there to give your clutch hand, some advantage.
One issue is the length of the clutch lever as this will give you a very short pedal (depending on your foot pedal ratio).
It is importantant that you cannot pull the lever beyond it's natural stop as you will damage the clutch.
Personally I prefer extending the clutch arm to match the pedal travel rather than fitting a stop. I've done this on the MotaLeira (except
hydraulic) and I have a pedal like a standard car, long and able to feel the bite. Not just an on/off switch!

Use a pair of mole grips on the clutch lever to turn it. The first 10-15mm is easy as it is the freeplay. When you feel it getting harder, that is
when the clutch is being operated. It will feel "springy" and will come to a natural stop as long as you don't go mad and force
it.
It is ok using your hands as you will feel each stage.
Trying to do this on the foot pedal is impossible because of the strength in your leg.
Measure the amount of travel and draw it on a piece of paper. You can then work out how much your cable will travel over your pedal range.
You can then work out how much to extend your clutch lever by.
It is easier than it sounds.
Remember to remove the freeplay from your measurements as it is unnecessary for a foot operated clutch.
