Indy, Luego or Stuart Taylor
Hi All
Went to stafford last week. Sat in everything 7ish.
Im 6ft 3in and am looking to build a BEC car with either R1 or Zx9R engine, and still dont know which kit is going to give me the most cockpit
space.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
I reckon the Indy, but i also liked the look of a nice blue Stuart Taylor outside.

Well I'm 6ft 4in tall and 19 stone and I oredered an Indy at the show, fit nice and snug with enough leg room.

Which Indy demonstrator did you sit in, the one with the cosworth lump? i could bearly fit in there and im quite a bit smaller than you. The pedals
were too close and the seats were too narrow for me.
Still like poele say im sure a bit of tunnel mod & different seats might make the difference.
Still undecided. Love to hear other views on car sizes.

Build your own chassis and make it the size to fit you!
I'm 6'2" so made the footwell 6 inch longer, which is no problem as the engine sits on the passenger side.

Chris,
The demo car they had at the show had cobra seats in it which makes a massive difference as they have alot of padding and are at an angle whereby
there is a 1-2" gap behind the seat. I agree it was very tight for me too!
You will find if you sit in a fibreglass shell seat (which are suprisingly comfortable) then you will have plenty of leg room.
Best to also use a small steering wheel (MAC1 motorsports do some nice ones) and have it quick release, makes getting in and out MUCH easier.
As for width it is tight but you want to be fairly tight in the car so I decided not to have the tunnel modified. Phil at MK said he could widen the
tunnel slightly but it depends on the engine, I am having a blade engine so the tunnel can be made a bit thinner but I think with a car engine they
can't do it because of the gear box.
