Engine mounted!! Few what are they from Q's too!

I've mounted up the zx12 engine in my fury, just need to sort out a couple of the welds and get the mounts painted. The one at the back is as the same as fisher use, the one at the front was a pain because of how the zx12 engine mounts. I've added the mount to the side of the engine(I know its not a load bearing mount) just to help stop any torque twist etc. so all in not a bad couple of days..... Just hoping the bonnet fits over the top!

also did a dash mock up so I can sit in it and make car noises.

Can anyone confirm the type of uprights that are fitted and the type of axle? Just need to be 100% for when ordering bits etc.

Happy days so far!

Looks good. Although the engine looks to sit quite high. What sump are you using, and does it stick below the chassis?

the sump in about 3cm off the ground with the standard sump fitted at the minute, it'll be about 9cm with a short sump.

Yep! Been thorough great pain to ensure the engine rests at its designed angle!

That looks very high. Top of my air box is 300mm above the top chassis rail and only just clears the "LeMans" bonnet. You might have a bit more clearance with a "Classic big bulge" bonnet.

the top of the engine is about 300mm above the top side rail.

when you say chassis rail do you mean the side rail or the bulkhead rail running across the car(the one with the side engine mount on?

I can't see how I could go any lower. I'll go and have a measure up

I know the airfiler with have to stick out of the bonnet.

Can't make it out from the photo, have you hard mounted one side and not the other (i.e. one has a rubber engine mount).. If so I think it's asking for trouble, something will give; either hard mount it all or have it all with a bit of movement..

the one at the rear is rubber mounted, on the bike only one side is rubber mounted. Am I looking at the hard mounted part breaking then? how do other people mount their engines, hard or rubber mounted.?

I'm measuring from the top chassis rail running from the bulkhead to the suspention top wishbone mount. The one that your exhaust will go over.

Cheers again. How is your engine mounted? rubber or solid?

Looks like a very nice job you've done there. I think my engine just looks higher as its its not got the exhausts etc hanging off it.

Don't suppose you've got an idea of how high your engine is not including the airbox?

The engine mounts have rubber bushes.

It did look good untill I lost it at Cadwell Park. It's got some scuffs now.

Not sure about the engine but the throttle bodies aren't much lower than the air box.
