The guys on the Tiger forum have been asking the same as they are fitted to the Cat. It seems Tiger used to have them made but don't bother
anymore due to the lack of demand and cost.
Tiger thread
Not much help but it seems there is a gap in the market for someone.

please excuse my lack of understanding here (having bought not built my car) but what is it about the Cat that means we have to use this useless
Cortina rack? (as opposed to something more readily available with quickrack option)
it bugs me a lot
thanks...

The suspension geometry will presumably have designed around with length of a Cortina rack. Fitting a shorter or longer rack will cause bump
steer.
The main difference between the Mk2 Escort rack on the Cortina rack is in the length of the rack itself. The track rods are the same parts. It would
therefore be technically possible to use an Escort rack with machined adapters on the end to space the track rods out by a suitable amount. The rack
mountings would also have to be suitably modified.

Interesting replies Gents, Thanks for posting.
the Mk 2 Escort rack seems to be more widely available & I note MikeRJ's comments re the length of the rack/steering arms.
Would anyone happen to know if the splines on escort rack are the same as the cortina one?
