Bailer Morris TRT

Hi there chaps,

I have a Bailey Morris 2 piece prop, that incorporates TRT and a slider at the rear section. My car is IRS so the sliding capability is to overcome poor measurement and make fitting/removal easier.

In the rear section there is big a threaded fitting. It doesn't have a hex fitting, but is ridged. It looks like it sort of locks the sliding section, but I am not sure.

Anyway, what am I suppose to do with this? tighten it up by hand, tighten it with mole grips, or something else?

I have a bit of prop noise (although I think it is from the final drive in the engine), but It something I would like to understand better.

Thanks,

Matt

The nut you refer to retains a felt seal which is there to help keep the grease in the sliding section. Tightening it up by hand will be sufficent.

Cheers
Davie

Cool, thanks.

I guess I should have taken the thing apart when I first got it and taken a good look.

I like taking things to pieces, but ever since I disassembled an electric screwdriver and a clock both of which previously worked and then couldn't get them back together I have been a bit wary!

Thanks,

Matt
