accusump to blade fitting
Has anyone fitted an accusump to a blade engine? Is it easy to do, and how did you plumb it into the engine - is there an existing hole into the oil
gallery I can use, or are you using a sandwich plate on the filter....any experiences much appreciated...

If this is an 893 or 919 engine, .there is no need to do it. All you require is a good sump baffle and a little bit of over fill on oil and the engine
will be surge free. This is all that RGB class C racers do and they do not have any problems.
Better off spending your money on something else.

It is a 919 already with baffled sump - but have been advised not to run slicks without extra protection.....and I want to run slicks....

Current RGB champion (Derek Jones) had a Westfield Megablade for several years before he went racing. He ran slicks many times on trackdays and never
had any issues. I can assure you he gave it lots of welly around the corners....
If you are talking about a car with aero that can generate serious G's I would agree. But with a Westy, the difference between slicks and
something like Yokohama 048's is not so great. It will be fine as long as you keep a regular check on oil level.

interesting - might give it a shot as its not like I'm schumacher anyway
Still may want to install the accusump anyway - so if anyone has any advice on installation it would be most welcome...

I'm just about to fit an accusump to my Blackbird this Sunday. I spoke to Andy at AB Performance (he's on this forum) and he's
nursed me through the process so far: told me what to do, put together a complete kit, drawn diagrams and has even given me permission to call him on
Sunday should I encounter ant snags. I heartily recommend giving him a call.
Good luck,
Leon
