Air filter for 2003 R1

Hey guys,

I am running an '03 Yamaha R1 engine in my mini and I am unable to run the standard airbox as it will foul the bonnet. Eventually I will get a custom airbox made but for now I am looking for a sausage type filter to use on the engine. Can anyone on here please recommend a suitable filter and where I can get one from? I would appreciate the help and any details of what other people are running on their R1 engines.

Cheers

Ben

are you able to turn the airbox around 180 degrees and fit it on backwards, thats what you do on a 7 type install

No I had a look at flipping the air box round but is just so little space to work with in a mini engine bay. I'm just trying to find out if anyone can supply a sausage type filter and backing plate for the 03 R1 engine or even individual sock filters for the throttle bodies? I had a look on the pipercross website, but they only seem to list the performance filter which is a direct replacement for the filter within the standard air box.

Or you can do a cut and shut on the standard one as I intend to do when I get around to it. (As long as you don't reduce the volume too much).

I'd much rather chop that around a bit than my bonnet
