Big gaping hole
Hi guys,
I've cut a hole in my side panel for my exhaust to sneak through. It's not the ugliest hole in the world to be fair looks quite well,
but... I've seen a few cars knocking about with a black (poss carbon) panel that surrounds the manifold as it passes through the body.
They are rectangle in shape and I would like one very much

If you put a bit of U trim around this makes gaping holes look much neater, how about a crafted bit of thin ali polished up?

I'm assuming that you've got fibreglass panels? You could make some ali trim with extra material inside the hole, make up a former from
wood, drill rivet holes and screw it to the wood, then bang down the insides of the trim with a rubber hammer to 90 degrees. Remove from the wood, the
tap thin inside edges over a bit more.
I did something similar when I changed from over the rail exhaust to through the side panel, just this was a bit of a larger patch

What size piece of carbon would you need to use?
