zx9r help/questions

hi all, i got a c1 engine the other day, but it came with no chip/igniton controller thingy. Trouble is, without knowing the correct name of the part, i cant search very well on ebay for it. is it a cdi?

other question is what haynes or service manual covers this engine/bike? ive seen a few books that end at 1997, but i think c1s were 98?

and finally, will any carb fuel pump do, and are there any preferable ones for the job. theres a fireblade one on ebay but i wasnt sure it was right.

thanks for any help, much appreciated!

Hi Joel
yes its a cdi, but if i was you i'd play safe and get one from a breakers, then if its no good you can take it back, Powersports in Bradford will have one, set you back about £100. You'll need a regulator/rectifier as well. Also dunno if you got them, but the C1 has four coils, one in each plug cap.
There is a Haynes which covers C1 & E1 1998-2000
Any jap four fuel pump wil do, Rufforth autojumble will get you one for about £20
you may even pick up a cdi there if your lucky.
