R1 oil pressure sandwich plste
Hi
I have 2006 r1 engine, and I am trying to resolve an issue with connecting my digidash oil temp and pressure sensor. I got a straight thru sandwich
plate from think automotive, but this fails on the engine casting.
I am just wondering what sort of solutions people have come up with, or if you know of a sandwich plate that fits easily or with little
modification.
Thanks in advance

I used the plug in the end of the oil gallery for my pressure guage. There's an identical one in each end of the block; take your pick.
It's shown in the workshop manual as thats where Yamaha test the presure.

not sure for the 2006 engine, but to fit the pink think auto plate, you'll have to machine in.
i'll try to find the pics tonight

hi thanks for the replies
antonio - did you have any luck with the pictures, be interested to see how it fits.
on using the oil gallery and bolting in to this, did you have to drill and tap this or can you get something that bolts in nicely, I don’t fancy
drilling and tapping it. also whilst this will provide one connection for oil pressure, what are you doing for oil temp ? and how useful is it if you
have set it up for oil temp some how on Y piece in terms of accuracy of the reading as there is no oil flowing through it - or is this an incorrect
assumption?

I just got the right adaptor from Think Auto - you can see the sump where I drilled and tapped it for the oil temperature sensor - dead easy job!

Hi Andrew
I just phoned Think Auto and asked them for an adaptor (M16?) and length of flexi hose with a female fitting to take my oil pressure sensor.

IIRC I had to use the grinder a bit to fit it into my 2003 R1.
