mnr project zzr1400 engine update

well got the engine diagnosis back on the old venom project mnr,

its good a proper done in,

crank cams rods head etc all blued up so engine is a expensive coffe table now,

will be getting a new engine as crank alone is over a grand,

still expected it to be that way with no oil in it,

will look to sell on the good bits i have been told the casing a gearbox fetch good money,

cheers all still smilling though

Are you saying they put that on a rolling road with no oil in it ?

Wow...if that is the case, i'm horrified, and having read the story behind VP, totally devastated for him

hi all there was oil in the engine but just not lubricating the bits that need it ie the bits that are niw no goof, the oil pick up was modified and may have caused the issue as they had castled this to help with the lower sump, we will never know all we know is oil was in the engine but not lubbing the engine could be the accusump ??? Taking the oil ?? Or the oil pick up ?? Still it was a shame , i wiil be putting on andy bates billet sump and new higher pressure relief valve to help the new engine no one is to blame its just one of those unlucky things a combination of things can make it work or fail, i was only posting to show results not to point the blame not getting into that one, thanks all

accusump is a possible explination to the problem they do work as i have used them on two cars before but need to plumb them direct to an oil gallery to mist effective

I don't see that as the issue, maybe that when it plumbed in it just wasn't set up correctly, right amount of air in the 'pump' etc so when the engine was run the oil went into the accusump causing starvation?

you can download an accusump set up sheet, as long as its done properly or at all they're great bits of kit, more reliable than a dry sump. Even with the AB sump it doesn't cover the area's an an accusump system would! Even using as a pre-oiling system its worth having on.

Indy bird just had a look at your photo archive, did you cut the main tub or are they now 3 piece tubs

also are your track rod ends the right way around i thought they should curve out towards the front, unless mine are the wrong way round!
