R1 Breather mod, before or after IVA

Should the breather mod to the cam cover (removing the reeds, blocking the ports and drilling the holes) be done before or after IVA. Will removing the reeds etc affect the emissions. The engine is an 05 5VY.

In theory the AIS valve should be closed when the engine is hot and not alter emmisions if blocked. In reality I found it did effect the emmisions, but if you set them (via PowerCommander) with it blanked off then it shouldn't matter. You'll most likely need to use a Power Commander to get the emmisions right anyway.

Cheers Adrian, I will be fitting a Power Commander, do you know of a good map for IVA. I won't be ready for IVA until next year but I am trying to build it right from the start. Thanks again

I'm modding mine after IVA, my plan is to leave it as is for now and use the power commander to sort emmisions for the test.

I have a 4c8 block, but can send you my IVA map if its any use to you, I expect at idle the settings are likely to be similar.

I can e-mail you a copy of the map mine passed SVA with. It's only set to alter the areas of the map where the engine is revved to for the test. All installs vary so I can't promise you'd pass with it though. u2u me your address if you want it.
