Carbs again

Kawasaki ZZR1200
Ok. I have now installed a wideband lambda with gauge. With a fabricated air box. The car pulls extremely well when cold on 165 jets. After warming up it judders under full throttle. The AFR at full throttle was about 11.o - 11.5. Reduced the main jet probably too much to 155 jets. This gives AFR of 12.5 on full throttle. However the missing is worse....bum.
I'll increase the jets now to 160 and see how it goes.
Two other things spring to mind.
The carbs are 1100 not 1200 and although the same size they do not have a throttle position centre. Presumably the ECU is expecting an input. Also would the breather effect this as not connected as identified in the last ZZR1100 post. Should I put it into the air box.

Any help would be appreciated

if you havent got a tps sensor connected to the ecu it wont be advancing and retarding the ignition timing correctly which is most likely the cause of you misfire.

Led to believe it makes a huge difference.
If the one side of the diaphragm is at atmospheric pressure and the other is not, it will certainly mess with the mixture.
May be worth contacting Minitici.
I'm sure he was involved in the rectification on Colin Graham's ZZR powered Hawke.

Cheers

Sounds like you are making some progress.

Are all the plugs looking similar to one another? Worth a check, as afr gauge only useful if all the cylinders are behaving the same.

If its all a bit rich then the plugs might be getting a bit too sooty, so worth a scrub.

So how is the TPS input to the ECU connected? If you fixed up a potentiometer that told the ECU that you were always at WOT then you could see if that fixes your missfire.

You will definitely need to get the TPS sorted, or your timing will be all wrong. Nice AFR at WOT but that will probably change when the timing gets changed.
