Front Cycle wing bracket recommendations

The cycle wings on my car have never struck me as being particularly good, and now one has broken for the second time I think its time to get some new better ones rather than repair them again.
So, can anyone recommend a particular make / type of cycle wing bracket suitable for Cortina uprights please?

cheers

Chris

Chris mine where for ever breaking,

so

i made some new ones out of 1" flat bar, picking up in the normal place, (back plat holes) but braced them with another flat across the top ball joint, with the ball joint passing thru it if that makes sense, sorry no pics available.

No vibration or breakage there after, not to heavy either.

Chris,

I have to admit i got mine from lolocost cost me 30 quid but i was in need of them quickly! they are pretty solid and just have a plate with 3 holes in for the m8 threaded rod to pass through into the upright. Then they have 2 hal;f inch round bars comming off them with what used to be 25mm x 3 mm flat bat on so you can bend it over to suit. I hacked the flat bar off and put on 25x2mm which is more than sufficient ( and we have bumpy roads round here!)

They get them from Lolocost I think, as they are identical. And yes, they will snap....

The thing that concerns me is that Im not sure off the shelf ones will fit mine. My current ones mount underneath the top ball joint and onto the bottom brake caliper mounting bracket, but becauee Ive got Wilwood calipers and mounts on the front, I had to mod them to make them fit properly.
Ive got a couple of pics of mine which Ill upload later for comparison, I might end up just modding the existing ones with stronger metal across the underside of the arch rather than replace em if the others available arent any better.

Just looking at the Lolocost ones on their site, how do they mount to the upright because I dont recall my Cortina uprights having any mounting bolt holes on them like the brackets seem to require, or is the upright drilled and tapped to suit?

Chris, there are three small holes in the 'tina upright, and they bolt straight on. I would make my own next time from bar.

IIRC its the "standard" stone/dust sheild mounting holes. probably just need a run through with an m8 tap and your all set.
