Hayabusa Engines
Ive got a 09 busa engine and im desperate to get it started.
since I bought the engine I have forgotten everything that malc at yorkshire engines told me I had to do to get it running
things I might already know (and bits I know I don't know)
1. I have to put a resistor somewhere, any one know where it is i might put it and what size resistor?
2. Do I need to upgrade the clutch, I would have thought I should but is it necessary before IVA?
3. I fill the oil to the top of the site glass and turn the engine over for a few mins, then leave and fill again to top of site glass could anyone
tell me about how much this is so I know how much oil to buy?
4. I have the standard oil cooler, I believe this to be perfectly adequate, however I don't understand the connectors at all so can I be cheap
and cut the pipe work and add some hose in-between?
5. I have taken the black cover thing off and used the grinder to cut the shape out around the sprocket so when the sprocket adapter goes on the prop
can be attached, still need to remove prop measure and order sprocket adapter, but i can start it without it.
6. then engine has done minimal miles but left empty for a few months, should I put a new oil filter in?
I don't know what to do about an exhaust, I really need to get one bought but cant take the car anywhere to get one made, couldn't
possibly make my own as I don't have the equipment/skill/expertise. so really just need to buy one from MK but my problem is and this is no
disrespect to MK they are not exhaust experts. any suggestions on my dilemma would be much appreciated.
is there any special procedure before I start the engine for the first time (its been empty of fluids a few months now)
sorry for all the questions I did a search first but couldnt see a great deal of info.

from memory you need a resistor on the side atand switch.
mines still on the original clutch and has had some pretty hard driving now with no issues all i did was fit uprated springs
if you look at the site glass there are two marks you want to be aiming for the top one when its all setteled down and the oil cooler and pipework
are full
the oil cooler pipes can be cut and some oil resistent rubber hose inbetween thats how mine was before i got a bigger oil cooler
starting the engine without the prop is fine its only like sitting there with your foot on the clutch and the drive disengaged
oil filters are cheap engine dmage is not you should always replace the filter when changing the oil
mk make a custom exhaust for the indy with a very big can so its quiet for track or road
as for starting take the plug leads off and turn it over for ten seconds or so make sure the oil light goes out then bob them back on and off you
go

Yeah don't buy an exhaust from Mk because it probably won't fit......
As mine didn't and I had to modify and reweld it
