MNR zzr1400 dyno results
Well vortx went on the dyno today and after a couple of hours playing around with the power commander we ended up with,
190.4 bhp @ calculated fly
159.6 bhp @ wheels
122 ft pounds of torque,
was happy with the results considering i am running 2 cans to the rear exit exhaust, in fact was more torque when we fitted the rear small extra
can,
well track day in the next 2 weeks look forward to shaking the car down,
all went well no issues so fingers x
cheers

That's a pretty good result! Be interested to see the comparison with a ZX12!

did a mk zx12r engine and got 144 @ wheels with power commander custom exhaust and g pack,
zx10r was 127 @ wheels
blackbird was 125 @ wheels
zzr1100 was 124@ wheels
not much in them really,
but the torque is so much more on the zx14
cheers

that sounds like a realistic dyno too. There's a few 'down hill' dyno's about
I'd have expected more from the zx10, my bike makes 172 at the wheel with a full system and custom map.

Hi mate
Power looks about right. Mine was 161bhp on Daytuners dynojet setup in 2008.
Torque seems really high though, I remember mine being 99lbs? Which would be a huge difference. Maybe I am getting old and losing it. Planning to get
mine mapped at the end of march and will post the results.
Congrats on progress.

Do you have any pics of your 2 exhaust can setup? I had a look in your archive and saw the big side can, I'm interested in doing this

the zx10r was running a std airbox though so may have been down on power with that??? also no power commander with it just std management system??
power commander and good airfilter may be around 140-150 yep, i was just quoting my cars and what they read ona i would say a reasonably good dyno,
paul yep i was suprised with the torque but running that extra can a 4 ft of exaust seems to have helped the torque,
and i am very happy pulls very well to 10.5k
cheers

Nice one Sean, the torque is very good, would you try a standard type exhaust to compare
i'm still plodding along with mine! hopefuly a few more weeks/months!
question re oil pressure gauge have you taken it from the fitting on the sump next to the standard oil pressure switch think it will be a 3/8 NPT

A good result all round then. I guess there's a lot more drivetrain/frictional losses when installed in a car. How does it feel compared to
the other BEC's you've had?

johneturbo, i am not running the std sump i am using ab perfomances billet sump, so cant answer that one for you,
but i am asuming you could T off the oil pressure switch outlet with no issues,
i am also running a remote filter and oil cooler system,
just to say how it compares to other bec cant say until next sat when i at brands to shake the car down, fingers X
i will not run a std can as always had probs with noise thats why i developed this system for track use really, you prob will get more power but will
loose the torque. as they say hp for show torque for go
thanks all
will update after brands

I'm also using a shortened sump it's 1.5" deep with trap doors but not the andy bates one, also come with the oil filter relocation
bracket, which i have theromostatic sandwich plate with front mount oil cooler.
just it copys the standard sump ie comes with the fitting for the standard oil pressure sensor, and also one 3/8npt that kawasaki use to test the
pressure.
so are you taking oil pressure from the remote filter?
if i wasn't going away on holiday next sat i'd have popped down to brands for a lookie

if you look on the front face of engine (in the car) near the clutch cover theres bolt behind which is an oilway.
Thats where i took off a braided pipe to a sender which i rubber mounted (definatly do this, or failure will occur)
away from the engine.

i have ran mine from the sump with a braided hose to the oil pressure sender from the digi dash remotely located,
seems to be ok got the kit from etb instruments,
was going to use the same gallery as mentioned above but just be sure you dont go in to far as this gallery feeds the top of the engine, so you could
block it off, just a pre warning,
thanks all
