OT: Any antiques experts here?
I am trying to clear out some of the furniture in my parents house... a lot of it is fairly "ordinary" 30s/40s stuff..
But im not sure about this...
Its a childs wardrobe (so wont take full width clothes weirdly)
Anyone any ideas what it is, how old it is and what its worth?
Its deffinately some sort of hardwood...possibly walnut or oak??!
Any thoughts on where to sell it or do I just drag it out into the garden and burn it?!?

Take the pictures down to your local auction house. I did the same with stuff from my dads old house. They will prob tell you it might make a tenner
in auction, thats what they did with all the stuff I had, so I just scrapped it all or gave it to charities that would collect it.

It's quite nice - looks 1920s to me but I'm no expert.
It sounds ridiculous, but I assume there's no old paper label on the back?
'Flog It!' ?

I had one I bought in a junk/secondhand furniture shop when I bought my first house. It was similar to yours but had no drawer at the bottom. It sat
in the garage of the current house until a couple of years ago (been here 13+ years...) until I sold it on eBay. From memory I got £80-£100

Yeah - looks late Victorian early Edwardian to me, as others have said take it to your local decent auction house and they will tell you if it's
worth selling there - I would have thought it's worth £60-120, if not, then Ebay.
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.

Hi
Please don't burn it
Woodturning / woodworking is a hobby of mine and it really concerns me that perfectly good hardwood is going to waste rather than being offered for
re-cycling. Please advertise on your local free ads if you can't sell it on.
Regards Mick
