Bike breaking

I'm not sure if this has been covered before.

When in search of a replacement engine i was overcome by the amount of complete bike's i could of bought rather than finding an engine.I did find an engine which was a 919.

I'm now on the hunt for a back-up engine.

What money can be made on breaking a 919 Fireblade or any other bike for instance, i could of bought two local bike's with lowish mile's say around 15k.I would be keeping the engine but with me being never that much into bike's i was curious how much could be made off a bike with the value of £1500 if i were to break it myself?

I've done this a few times and found it's down to demand at the time - last time I broke a 919 blade I got a good engine, but struggled to make my money back selling the bits I didn't want as demand for old blade parts seems to have reduced. I made my money back on a few bikes (basically getting a free engine), but best to assume it'll still cost you a bit to be on the safe side.
