Guessing the zzr1200 will have to come out

After getting the engine to run sweet. It has decided to occasionally jump out of 2nd gear.
It doesn't fully jump out, but seems to not engauge fully, jumping then eventually staying in gear.

My old fireblade had a chip out of the selector drum. That however would never stay in gear.
I wouldnt think the forks are bent for the same reason. Could it be dog wear??????Or anything else??

Fairly common fault on the ZZR1100/1200 gearbox.
Had that on the ZZR1100 Radical Clubsport.

If anyone can confirm that the 11 and 12 share gearbox components, I've got a good spare gearbox, forks and selector drum.

It's still in the block at the minute, but worked fine. Happy to strip it out, but I'd need some £ for it

From looking at zzr forums it would seem that they are the same. So I would probably want to take you up on your offer after I have check which components are worn. Dont worry at the moment as I want to get some use out of the car and want to do a track day before removal. Just have to miss out 2nd around town. I also want to recon the diff on the TVR first

I'll keep my eye out for a spare engine as well, as when the Blade did that it ended up being cheaper and easier to replace the engine.

Incidentally I got the engine to run sweet by making up an air box and putting the original jets back

Just looked up zzr1100 and zzr1200. on the C4 1100 the part numbers are the same as the 1200. so I think that should confirm they are the same.

Hi Steve

Only just spotted this thread.

Due to an extended period of being unemployed, I sold a load of spares on ebay Basically everything that was already stripped out of the various bust motors.

However I do still have a complete ZZR1100 engine sitting out the back. It's the one I fitted a new head gasket to (but didn't cure the overheating issues). The gearbox worked fine though.

I'm more than happy to strip it for you, but I only have 4 days before I go away on a 6 week job! I'm on the last day of a course tomorrow and doing daddy daycare on Thursday and Friday!

I'll try to get it stripped but can't promise I'll get it done before go?

Sorry
