reg/ rect relocation

on the bike the regulator/ rectifier is open to lovely cooling air but on my 893cc blade its shielded under the scuttle. If i were to relocate it to the front of the car this would mean splicing in extension wires. In its current set up the original connector from the alternator is often prone to burning themselves out so is this new way going to work considering im adding even more connectors?

Like Snapper has suggested, just add on a small cooling fan. We have done this on our 929 engined Phoenix to good effect.

Thermal heat compound and bolt it to the passenger bulkhead, it keeps the wiring lengths to a minimum and does not need a fan.

If you need more power try the superdream reg/rectifier unit it's a bit more robust.

No do not add any further connectors, you can however extend the existing wiring using cable of the same or larger size (csa) and solder/sleeve connections without any issues.

As you already know the oem connectors have a habit of melting, The original regulator is fine for charging batterys up to abot 18 Ah, anything more and it's probably a bit underated.
