Wheres the best place to get a filter for my gsxr engine do you have to make the metal plate that goes on the carbs or can you buy it?

Lots of different filters styles and makes out there. ITG and Pipercross are rated amoungst the best.
Due to is being a bike engine you will have to cut the backing plate. If you go for a pipercross PX600 (most common sausage filter) then you can buy
blank plates to cut.
Have you got stacks fitted?
You may just get away with a set of ITG filters slid over the velocity stacks.

"FASTdan" on here sells them, I bought one from him for my fireblade via Ebay, Pipercross px600 with a machined base plate all cut out
ready to fit, nice job, and a good price.

You cheeky monkey. You mentioned gsxr and carbs and I started thinking you had a proper old-skool engine.
Turns out you've got a k6 and don't have carbs at all.
