Car Museums
Anyone know if there are any museums/collections in the UK (or on the continent) that have historic race cars from the 60's/70? Especially
Can-AM or the toyota 7 race car type vehicles?
Any thoughts would be most appreciated

The one at Gaydon had some historic race cars iirc. Also theres a motorsport museum at the Nurburging that has some old race cars.
Not sure if either have the particular cars you are looking for though.

Not sure on your specific requirements, but the Haynes museum in Somerset has a motorsport hall. I'm hoping to visit later this year with my
dad and sons.

Some of these cars run at historic race meetings, so you can hear them too! You can get close up to the cars in the paddock and pits. I've
seen them in action at the Silverstone classic and Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival, but the fields vary from year to year, so you need to
check.
I seem to remember that Toyota brought a 7 to the Goodwood FoS one year, but I think it usually lives in Japan.
You could ask this question on the Autosport Nostalgia forum

This place is worth a visit:

The castle itself is well worth a visit if you're into that sort of thing but the motor museum was the real surprise, they had a fair mix of
60's / 70's racers as well as the usual & in some cases unusual vintage/classic stuff.
What really surprised me was a BRM with the H16 engine (see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H_engine). They even had a spare engine on display for
closer examination.
If I was ever that way again I'd definately pay it another visit.
Martin.

Goodwood FOS seemed to have at least one of every type of car possible. They do also move which is always quite nice!
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

It's local to me and I went last summer with my lads having not been for c. 20 years. TBH it's rather tired and most of the cars
haven't changed much in between. The James Bond "Experience" was pretty naff although the Top Gear bit was OK. It's an OK
family day out for the extras like the abbey, gardens, bus ride, park, mono-rail etc.
