Rolling road results ZX12R

I took my car to PDQ today, and spent the morning watching (and acting as chief fan moving monkey!) whilst Nick remapped my car. I wasn't sure how it was going to go, as it was running a zero map in the PC3. On the first run, it made 152hp/84ft.lb, but the a/f was all over the place, particularly higher in the rev range. Nick had quite a few issues trying to get a stable TPS reading - it seems my TPS might be a bit cack, and/or it was just the standard 10 years ago. So after 30 runs, and just under 3 hours, the map was finished, giving 156bhp and 86ft.lb at the wheels (in a room at 32C!). I have only taken it for a quick spin, but it seems to pull much more smoothly now (I specifically wanted it to pull even from lower revs, to avoid having to slip the clutch so much when pulling away) - I will give it a proper test this weekend, but first signs are good!

Sorry, crappy phone pic of one of the first and one of the last (but not the last) runs...! I may well have a play with my wideband over the rest of the summer, but mostly I am looking forward to my Car Limits day at North Weald next week!

I've had (and still do) dealings with the chaps at PDQ for a few years now. Nice people to deal with.
Make sure you have wet gear for the weekend mate. Forecast is not looking good for the South/West

Hello,

i am quite surprised by your results.

here are the results of my 2001 ZX12 engine.

Mesure stopped at 9.000 rpm because i forgot to push the rev limiter à 11.000 rpm
Max Power 166 CV at 8800 RPM
MAx torque 132 Nm at 8850 RPM

Belgian - you seem to have a very healthy engine there - that torque figure is more like Busa or ZX12 levels...! Is your engine standard?

Looking at the graph again, can anyone explain why the torque in Belgians graph starts at pretty much peak torque at 2500rpm?! Is that a dyno thing?

Hello,

my engine is standard.
I have a home made exhaust based on a Busa modified to fit the ZX12.

Only difference i have is the ECU.
i am not running the standard one anymore , but a KMS one. ( http://kms.vankronenburg.nl/products_ecu.html)

The guy who mapped it could not take the best out of it because my car was too low to go on his dyno.( you can see some stange figure at low RPM).When he mapped the engine, i asked him to give as much torque as possible.

When i made the dyno test( so not made by the guy who mapped the ECU), the guy was quite surprised by my engine.
He showed me Busa results he had ( he was driving and mapping Radical cars) and my engine was looking better.

Good result, some nice power you have there, mine feels plenty fast enough with the little 893 in it, going to see what it like when I get it on track, but I think zx12 is the way to go

If i could chose now, i would go for a zzr 1400 engine.
Lots more power and torque !!
