Nippon Denso Alternator charge voltage question.
I'm running a small Diahatsu type Nippon Denso Alternator.
Doing some final checks on the electrics before MOT and noticed it was charging at 14.7 volts at 2000 RPM.
This seems a little high to me, does anyone running such an alternator know their charge voltage for comparison?

That sounds about right. It shouldn't go much higher as you increase the revs if the regulator is doing its stuff.

Normally Nippon Denso charge just shy of 15v.
The usual critical test for high charging voltage is check the charging voltage at over 2,500 rpm with all the main electrical loads on (ie
main beam on) and watch the maximum voltage as you turn the loads off. A jump to over 14.9 is generally bad news but Nippon Denso tend charge
closer to 15v than most.

My is about 14.5 mate but i am having problems getting light to come on doing my head in so i am going to have to get auto lec in to sort it out
