R1 sump thread, repair or replace

Whilst working through my "to-do" list yesterday I got to the job of sorting my leaky sump. Went to take out the low oil sensor and both the threads are buggered.

What is the concensus on this, Am i better replacing the sump or would a helicoil repair be ok? I'm just a little wary of a thread repair on such a critical bit.

Btw engine is a 99 R1 4xv lump.

Cheers
Steve

oil level

Hi
Make an aly plate 1/8" thick the same size as the sensor, drill the holes right through, use stainless steel bolts heads inside the sump Nylocks outside with a gasket between , Job done.
Good luck
René
