Fury BEC engine mount
A wee question for owners of Fury BECs.....
I'm not convinced by this engine mount. It seems a bit weak.
Are they stiff/strong enough in use, or would I be best to add some gussets?
Many thanks,
Jek

Are the 4 main fixings (2 long bolts) used on the other side? If so the mount to have shown is really only used to steady the engine

Hi Austen,
Thanks for the reply, yeah, there is a large engine mount on the other side which bolts through the two long 10mm holes on the engine, and another
small one which bolts onto the scuttle chassis rail.

if you removed all other mounts would the this one completely hold the engine in place?? Check out my blog and the engine upgrade link, I've
done 2 race seasons with this set up no issue

Looks better than what I have on that side. I've got a V shaped mount that comes off the lower bolt in your picture and the matching one at the
other end and goes down to the chassis plate. Wasn't entirely happy with it but it's still there nafter 15000miles.

I've not even bothered with the lower mounts on the exhaust side.

Thanks for the photos Adi and Tim,
All reassuring stuff. Must admit, I don't really understand how the loads are distributed amongst the engine mounts, but I guess the one on the
gearbox side of the engine must take the brunt of the reaction - I'll leave this mount as it is.
