No oil pressure (HELP) ZX9 R C1

Hi

Can anybody help i have a Kawasaki ZX9R C1 engine which was running sweet as a nut before having the sump chopped.

things that have been done are as follows .

the sump chopped the oil pick up tube has been shortned so it sits about 3- 5mm off the bottom of the sump

i have an etb dash with the oil pressure sensor remote mounted which is giving no reading so i removed the oil pressure switch and the hole where the oil warning switch on the bike was there is no oil pumped out when the spark plugs are removed and the engine is turned over i have oil to the oil filter as the i have undone the filter to see if oil is getting there .

Please can somebody help .

Thanks Chris

I couldnt get any oil pressure on the starter motor after I had done my sump.
So I crossed my fingers and started it up knowing it was running OK before I had done the sump. Once started it had oil pressure within a couple of seconds, I put it down to the fact that all the oil had drained out of the pump etc ad wouldnt prime at cranking speed. Hope yours is the same, keep us posted.

Has the sump got little feet welded in to support the pickup? The pickup needs to be adequately supported and not just suspended in mid air, if not then the pickup could have half fallen out and either sucked itself to the bottom of the sump, or could be letting in air past the seal so not picking up oil properly.

(Just checking, its not one of my uncle's BTW is it, I dont recall you doing it through him?)

cheers
Chris

Those outlets are inlets which draw air into the exhaust ports. Ive still got mine connected to the air box, but that could all change next week as Im putting a foam fillter on now that it has passed the SVA.
