Any other gauges/sensors needed on GSXR indy?
I have seen some dash pics of BECs where people have other gauges etc. as well as the bike clocks.
I just have the bike clocks on the dash at the minute. Is there any other sensors/gauges I should be looking to install?
Cheers

Don't know if there is a warning light but if not maybe oil pressure?
Boost gauge
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Fuel gauge can be useful, some bikes just have the odd warning light for that.

I have all switches and required telltales. It was more oil pressure, water temperature etc. I was thinking of. I'm not sure what info is
displayed in the gsxr clocks.

I have oil pressure, volts and water temp. In my opinion all are essential, all warnings lights tell you is that something is deceased

Bike clocks K1-K4 give you all you need, except perhaps a gear indicator, which I find useful. Later clocks have the gear indicator. So no, nothing
essential. Obviously the aformentioned SVA/legal lights/switches will be needed if you're venturing off the track.
Substituting a high pressure switch on the oil light will give you all you need. The GSXR will let you know if oil pressure isn't stable by
launching rod No.3 out the side, if the oil pressure is really low it'll let you know by frying No.2 crank shell. Oil temperature on the GSXR
tends to behave.
R1's have an oil level sensor (not a pressure switch) which isn't as essential on the GSXR as it doesn't vent as much oil out of
the breather, despite what you do to it. Obviously the oil level drops on the GSXR if crank case integrity has been compromised, but there's
usually visual evidence (smoke/fire) of this, prompting remediation.
The R1 also cooks oil if thrashed, which the GSXR doesn't.

It's a K1 that I have. I have installed a gear indicator.
What do you mean by "Substituting a high pressure switch on the oil light"

The standard switch will illuminate the dash warning light if the pressure falls to 4-6psi or so. If you fit something rated at 25 psi, then the dash
warning light will let you know that main bearing/rod failure is imminent. You won't have long before the block perforates, but you will have
some warning.
The ideal is a pressure gauge, off of the main gallery plug, but this is rarely watched - a nice bright light to let you know that 25 psi has been
breached is a good locost option.
