Found cause of Blade misfire

At long last with elimination I have found that the small misfire that I have had for some while was as the result of the HT lead socket. Not the lead or the plug but the socketty thing. Arching to the side via the head.
I'll get another tomorrow.

Just thought, might help someone else.

Chasing down a misfire can be a barsteward. Good that its sorted. Usefull tip for finding a suspected 'HT leak' is lift the bonnet on a dark, damp evening with the engine running. Often very obvious.

Changed plug socket.

It runs as silky as Silky the silk worm

Funny enough I just noticed tonight a slight misfire on my blade at about 9k revs and above. Just a slight spluttering and the odd pop of unburnt fuel.
Was your misfire similar? I'll maybe have a look at the plug leads, maybe drop in my other set of plugs see if it goes away....

All the best
Ali

Is that the same Silky as I have slinky... if so my slinky is all tangled up!

Glad you got it sorted - by the way NGK are the best plugs for a fireblade the precious metal one's (iridium) are supposed to give a better burn - but are expensive!

Yep. I've got NGK plugs

and yes my misfire started about 9k, but got steadily worse down the rev range

Got NGK plug sockets as well @£2.70 each
