Exhaust Finished -A good day

Set about making a manifold and system about a week ago, the Blackbird stock pipes are 38mm, its now 50mm all the way through to the tailpipe.

It was made with 10 - 90deg dairy bends and a few offcuts of straight pipe. To finish it needs tig welded up, the bracketing done, O2 bung and one more u bend to plumb the silencer in. It sits inside the bulkhead frame, but does run fairly close to the oil filter, not sure if I can get a remote head for the Honda filter ?

Ive not made a manifold before, but Ive really enjoyed making it, and learned a lot.

Got 10 bends from ebay, worked out at about £5each...Ive used all of them. seemed to have spent an age planning it, then ignored all of the plan and just did it. It was challenging, but not as bad as I expected.

The b&w pictures hide the rust...

Good call thanks, My son in law is a dab hand with a tig, so I will be off to his shed to learn how to tig next.

They came from an ebay auction as opposed to a buy it now, all new etc for £50 plus post, was a private seller ie not a shop.

The ends came off a stock Blackbird manifold, I think Andy Bates also does the collars for Hondas, could be mistaken...

Osprey exhausts made the collector to my spec, and supplied the pre cut cones for forming.
