plastic insert for gear knob wanted
I am replacing the gear knob on my F27 to a Richbrook one , but need to replace the plastic tube insert as the old one had split, does any one have
a spare one lying around ? think its 8mm
or know where I can get one from - tried e-bay

I've used body filler paste(suppose you could also use JB Weld or similar) on a couple of gear-knobs.
Wrap the gear-lever in cling-film making sure it comes quite a long way below the thread.
Whack some mixed filler into the knob, trying to make sure it goes in all the way, then place it over the gear-lever, lining it up how you want
it.
Simples....

Heat gear lever with small torch. Smear hot melt Glue on Lever, fit knob over the top and position. Leave to cool.
I did this with a Pool 8 ball, it never moved in 6 years.
Also easy to remove by re-heating the lever again.
Do NOT put HMG in the hole in the ball / knob, it cools too quickly when it hits the cold lever.
This works well and is easy to remove.

but all I'm after is the plastic insert, as I still want to be able to remove it quickly if needed.
