bike clocks - easy to use different ones?

hello there

I have a zx9r engine - i was thinking, is it easily possible to use clocks from a different bike??
i know some have anti theft and stuff but i was thinking of possibly using some older + cheaper ones......

(on another note must thank everyone would contributes to this forum, it is making my build much easier and informed..)

it depends on what clocks you want , speedo, rev counter temp oil light etc............ if you just want speedo and rev counter it may be possible but the more things you have in the cluster the less likely it is that its all going to be compatable. (and it will be more work to get it right) surely the ZX9 clocks cant be that much to buy from a scrapper?

zx9 clocks average £50 on ebay. bit steep, but then again, worth it for a tidy dash. Trouble is, i need two, combined...
