Volvo 740 complete donor

Hi all

I have been offered a Volvo 740 at a very good price, the body work is about shot underneath
At present I don't know what the engine is in it

With it being a RWD car could I use this as a complete donor
Using the running gear, engine, axle.... Ect

Will this work???
What modifications will I need to make to the book chassis dimensions, will they need to be made a little higher, wider and/or longer

I have tried to search, but can't see a thread with chassis dims on it

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated

Thanks
Matt

I would say it would work pretty well, what engine is it?
Also what are planning to build a Haynes or a Locost?

Not sure about the 740 but is the gearbox at the back with the diff??

Quick search indicates its more conventional after all...

go for it .

3 points to watch , based on a +442 chassis

youll need ford steering rack
gearbox ratios are crap
engine leans over into steering column

samjc has my chassis now...
