fazer engine car

I know a few have fitted them and wondering if they could provide a bit info,
Did you upgrade the clutch or baffle the sump any other mods or prroblems and what did it drive like, will i notice the difference from a 1700 x-flow or would hope so.

Cheers

im going over from a good spec cross flow to a ZZR1100 over the winter, all the lads with the bike engines are quick.

drove an R1 engined Mk and made me want it in sooner.

im just along the road from you near hexham.

Looking to get it changed over the winter, seen your car and a couple of others at the Corbidge fast lane show, did not have mine with me at the time due to carb problems.

The Fazer is very similar to the R1. As such, I'd assume it needs a baffle plate and if a later engine possibly a mod' to the crackcase breather (easy to do) as on the post 04 R1's. It would probably benefit from Barnett HD clutch springs.

Power will depend on the year so hard to compare without knowing but it'll be lighter... so yes, you'll notice the improvement.

Important not to get confused with which engine you have

FZR1000 (Sounds like this one being a 1991 engine)
Thunderace
Fazer

The Fazer was a much newer bike and had a detuned R1 engine

I'm fancying a bike engine as well. Looking at the price of certain bikes it strkes me that buying a complete working bike and selling the bits you don't need would be a cost effective way of getting a complete package - I recokon I could get a good ZX12R for £2.5k and a good chunk of that back by selling the bits.

You should have introduced your self! although i did have a bad hangover that day lol.

feel free to pop over when the crossflow's gone to see the install. if you need a hand with anything give me a shout.

i think bike engine is such a winner just for the sequential gear box alone!

I bought an engine from a lad called Jossey on here for £200 it came with loads of bits prop adaptor so on... He said the clutch was already upgraded better springs and stuff.

It's a total unknown engine to me but he said it was fine. Carbs are ment to be jetted for a car so I'm going to throw it in and see what happends.

I haven't really done much with it bar stick it up on the bench and cleaned it until now.

Ordered gaskets, got new oil filers and stuff so next month will be the start of the project for next summer.

I can't bring my self to take the crossflow out after a full engine rebuild less than 3000miles ago, it's bairly ran in. But... Keeps me busy so she's coming out.

People have mentioned his name to me so no doubt il be dropping him a line when I'm stuck!

Speak of the devil...

The sound of a bec was my main choice when I went for the zzr1100 now I'm putting a smaller cbr900rr engine in which is 20kg lighter and 15cm shorter than my old zzr1100.

Of course you will notice a difference as adi mentioned it will be lighter and the power delivery will e much different.

I have now been in many kit cars and you can do 50mph in a bec and it sounds mental.

One thing I have learnt is try get a bike and take the bits you need rather than just an engine. That said I have just bought an engine on its own lol

Guiness has been a great help to me when I first got my first zzr about 3 years ago now.

He has alot of info in his photo albums plus check any posts he has mentioned stuff on. Most helping me I would guess.

Lol, small world, going in soon.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-ZX10-B-B2-1989-ZX-1000-ZX1000-ENGINE-OIL-COOLER-/110888320547?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item19d1757e23 />
Bike engine has to be done, as dave says the noise alone!

The power deliver is addictive and I'm sick of being over taken by a car that's not even 1liter!
