Welder Inverter problem - advice needed !
Hi troops,
mate of mine ( no really!) has a Weldstar MA 1600 inverter,
but just after starting up welding ( either stick or Tig) It then cuts out,
Does anyone have any ideas what could be at fault? would it be a cheap fix?
cheers and beers
Greg

Check the cooling fans are spinning, take the casings off and give it a good hover out.
You may have localised heat issues, on one of my old welder s I replaced the cheap flimsy fans with 240v 19" rack fans, plenty on eBay for
pennies and I was able to run it harder and much longer afterwards.

There's a couple of places that do repairs, check out mig welding u.k. as they both post on there. One is called plasmapart in Loughborough and
the other is welderfix who is in Harrogate.

yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Are you sure you haven't switched on the timer?
