bec gear connection
Wondered if I cut out the middle (bit between the cable connection and the gearbox connection approx 1" and then joined the 2 pieces together
presuming you can weld them. Would it reduce the amount of movement on the gearstick to change gear and increase the 'spring back' on the
gearstick? If so is there anyone on here who could carry out the work?
Thanks.

That was done by 'Pathfinder' (think that was his u/n) and can't see how I can improve that.

I used a pit bike gear lever off ebay, about a fiver, and drilled a series of holes in the lever.

That sounds ideal, is the size of the connection on the gearbox standard across most bikes (R1) so that this should fit:

This is the one I used.
ebay The lever is flat, so easier to drill.
Most spindles seem to be 10mm diameter, so should fit. You could check yours before you order

Hi
This is what we did on our R1
paddle gear change
nice & free linkage which returns nicely
unlike the drag on a cable.
Good luck.
