Bike Engine Options
I'm still toying with the idea of which engine to put into my locost. I am still not sure to either put a car or bike engine in.
I have a "Ron Champion frame" currently sat in the corner of my workshop still not knowing what to put into her...
So my question is what bike engines are used if I didn't want to go down the dry sump route?
Would the KAWASAKI ZXR750 be an option?
Any help would be great.

very few bike engines require a dry sump.
Most of the guys run a billet sump from the likes of AB Performace or chop the arse out of them and flatten them.
I think a 750 would be gutlesss, what do you plan to use it for?

We put a zxr750 lump into a buggy last year, great for that but I think it would be slightly under powered for a kit.
I use the Honda Blackbird in my striker no dry sump but it does need an acusump.
If I do a bike engined one again I'll use the R1 engine though I've seen people using them straight out the bike, they have plenty of
power and seem fairly easy to find.

You really want 900 or more.
Newer engine the better normally.
Look at what people have. No need to reinvent the wheel.
Andy at ab performance is a good place to read up on and watch what he puts in cars...
Stuff like busa , zx1100, zx9r cbr900 and many more.

id look at the 06 R1 too. plenty of power, cheap and seem pretty bullet proof!

I'd definitely be looking at the larger capacity engines. The ZX7 had a decent enough engine, but it's down on power and torque for BEC
duties unless you are building an extremely light weight car.

Depending on how much your looking to spend.
budget, you cant go wrong with a ZZR1200 Kawasaki, there a little heavier than the R1's and CBR's but they have plenty of torque and can
be picked up dirt cheap.
if you have an endless budget then hayabusa, zzr1400, cbr1000rr etc
i think the 750 will leave you wantin,g personally.
