Keihin FCR Carb set up

Hi all,

After fitting my Keihin FCR flat slide carbs to my R1 Indy, I took it to B D Engineering in Sittingbourne, Kent to have a full rolling road set up.

After 2 hours the guy said it was all done but he couldn't get a power run as the clutch was slipping (which it was)

So now I have replaced the clutch with a Barnett pressure plate and the clutch is fine now but the problem I have found is when I accelerate hard the car seems to hit a wall at 10k and rev no further and due to this severely reduces my top speed.

Before the new carbs where fitted it revved freely to is limiter at just under 12k.

Now I have tried to get my head around why it is doing this and have come to a few conclusions.

The first is that the guy couldn't take it up to the limiter to set it up right the way across the range.

The second is that the air box (which has been turned around 180) cannot draw enough air to match the fuel

Has anyone had these fitted to their car/bike and experienced any problems or any guidance would be appreciated.

I apologise in advance as I do not have any experience with bike engine.

Thanks

Chris
