Track rod ends to short
Hi Guys,
Strange little problem really.
I'm rebuilding my Ron Champion 7, I've bought a new set of track rod ends but they aren't long enough. To get the wheels tracked to
the correct position there is only like two thread turns inside the track rod ends?
Anyone else come across this?
If anyone has a part number for what I need that would be awesome.

You get track rod extensions to cure this, I've a feeling that dependant upon age the rack could be either metric or imperial
Like eBay Item
You may need to shorten the rods on your existing rack to ensure you get a few good turns into the extensions.

If it is as per book car with an Escort rack and Cortina Mk3-Mk5 front uprights the threads on the rod ends are M14x2 as per the
"ordinary" versions of Mk2 Escort, for example Escort 1100
The M14 x 2 thread is easily spotted as it is a very coarse pitch compared to 1/2" UNF which is a fine pitched thread.

Thanks for the replies.
The rack is definitely metric, it only needs extending by roughly 12mm either side so I'm not sure that the rack extenders will work, they may
make the track too wide.

Ignore my last post, I'm still half asleep.
I'm just going to run a die down the track rod bars on the steering rack to accept the extenders.
