Perils of no reverse gear...
I went out for a quick drive based on a route given to me by someone I know. 'It gets a little bit narrow but it'll be fine'. You
can guess where this is going 
Cue me coming downhill on a single car width road, nice and slow, then coming face to face with two tintops. I just passed a driveway entrance, but
I'd only had two weetabix for breakfast so pushing it back was never going to happen.
I had to jump out the car and explain to both cars. First car was ok but the miserable cow in the second car said 'well it shouldn't be on
the road then!' pfft.
I won't be going on that route again
Has anyone else had this kind of problem before as well?

I once parked on a hill facing downwards, a car pulled up tight in front of me.... Nightmare pushing it back to make room to swing out.
You can push back, but grabbing the handbrake it rolls to where you started from, really need to take a block of wood to kick under a wheel

Some people just love to be arseholes. Few and far between needing a reverse I take

Exactly the same as you. Women kicked off. My patience was longer than hers. Just sat with my arms folded and smiled. I had to where to get to in a
hurry!!

I have an electric reverse with a racing battery = almost no reverse at all. It does a less than enthusiastic 10m on the flat nowhere if it is on a
hill with a 15deg slope (my driveway). I am convinced it is track car with road potential. However one day I will get caught out. The local club want
me to take it to Applecross!!!!

Several times, single track road, usual miserable 'me me me' generation's unwillingness to think beyond their own limited life.
Usually, the miserable thing concerned has just driven past a pull-in, designed for the purpose of minimising passing issues. It'll then sit
facing me, both stationary. I'll remove my helmet, step out of the car, ask the thing to back up a few feet, get some grunting and hand waving
from the thing.... I'll then slowly push it all back hundreds of yards down the road, while the miserable thing inches along as if attached by a
rope.
Paint it grey, like the sky, the houses and the people.

I would of asked her "IF it is so much trouble for you to reverse, should you be on the road?"
That probably would not of helped things though.
My old BEC had a full cage and it was not too bad on the flat. Just sit on the sill, brace against the A piller with one hand, the other on the wheel
and punt with one leg. Simples.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

I had the same problem in Whitby in mine, a very narrow road and very steep, he was adamant that it was me that was going to reverse as it was
technically his right of way (though I hadn't seen him before it was too late). his face was priceless when I knocked my engine off and jumped
out and asked him for a hand to push it back up the hill.
he wasn't very amused 
I find the worst thing is stopping at a shop for a drink etc then clambering back into the cockpit, strapping yourself in, helmet on and then.... oh
balls, no reverse!

Passed for what? MSA have required reverse gear for racing, hillclimbs etc. since 2010

IVA also requires a reverse (SVA didn't). Not sure of the legalities on removing reverse from a car that's passed and I doubt anyone,
including the police, have checked construction and use on the subject.
