Blade Clutch Gasket

Guys,

A couple of questions...

Firstly when the blade manual says put some sealent on the gasket does it mean something like instant gasket??

Secondly is there any trick to getting the old gasket off!! or is it a case of just scraping it off?

ta,
Rich.

First time you do it - just be careful. Second time use copperslip - it helps it not to stick to either face.

We used some semi-solid stuff which is supposed to be the best stuff for sealing engine joints. Trouble is - for the life of me I can't remember what they call it - but it's about £20 for 500ml. So we blagged a bit from a garage in Cheshire for what we needed. Smells very acrid and looks like dark treacle.
